Long title

A Bill to enable electors in the precincts of a polling station before the time designated for the closing of the poll to vote; and for connected purposes.

Summary

The Bill would amend Schedule 1 of the Representation of the People Act 1983 to provide that at the close of the poll in a general election, by-election or local government election, electors who were entitled to vote and within the precincts of the polling station would have to be issued with a ballot paper and allowed to vote.

It would be the responsibility of the Presiding Officer or Returning Officer to determine the limits of the precincts of a particular polling station.
