Long title

A Bill to enable admission authorities to have regard for local authority boundaries and other defined localities when allocating school places; to provide for the appointment of an independent lay majority on local school admission forums; and for connected purposes.

Summary

The Bill would amend the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 to give school admission authorities the option to take account of local authority boundaries and other defined localities. It would also amend the Act to provide that the majority of members of a school admission forum should be lay members.
