Long title

A Bill to make further provision about fuel poverty; and for connected purposes.

Summary

The provisions of the Bill would

  • require the Government to introduce an energy efficiency programme to bring existing homes up to current energy efficiency levels
  • impose a duty on energy suppliers to offer social tariffs to limit vulnerable households’ exposure to high energy bills
  • reinforce the legal duty on the Government to act to end fuel poverty.
