Summary

The Bill seeks to introduce greater employment protection for employees who work in businesses which are changing ownership by share transfer. Key areas
  • The Bill proposes to make certain provisions of the transfer of undertakings regulations (known as TUPE) apply where there is an ‘equity transfer’
  • Powers are given to the Secretary of State to define in detail the scope of transactions that would be caught by the provisions.
The Bill was withdrawn at Second Reading.
