British Nationality (Irish Citizens) Act 2024

On 24 May the Bill reached committee stage in the Lords.  

However, no changes were suggested to the bill so the bill went directly to third reading. This procedure is known as "order of commitment discharged".  

Third reading followed directly after, with no further changes being made. 

Royal Assent

Following agreement by both Houses on the text of the bill it received Royal Assent on 24 May. The bill is now an Act of Parliament (law).
